Information, not legal advice
Everything on this site — guides, feature descriptions, and the pages about consent and lawful use — is general information to help you use GuestSpy well. It is not legal advice, and it cannot tell you what is lawful in your particular situation. Monitoring law differs a great deal from place to place. If you need to know whether a specific use is allowed where you live, ask a qualified lawyer. You are responsible for using the service within the law that applies to you.
Monitoring helps, but it cannot prevent every harm
GuestSpy is a tool that supports good parenting; it does not replace it. It can show you where a phone is, flag a worrying word, and hold a bedtime rule. It cannot promise to catch every risk or stop every bad thing from happening. Children are resourceful, the online world moves quickly, and no app sees everything. Use GuestSpy as one part of staying involved — talking, agreeing rules together, and paying attention — not as a guarantee of safety.
Parents remain responsible
Whatever the app reports, the responsibility for a child stays with the parent or guardian. GuestSpy gives you information and controls; the judgement about what to do with them is yours. Setting up the app does not transfer that responsibility to us, and it does not mean you can step back from being present in your child’s life.
Real platform limits
We would rather tell you the limits up front than have you discover them later:
- Android permissions. Features depend on the permissions granted on the child’s phone and on how the phone maker and Android version behave. A system update can change what an app is allowed to do.
- Call recording is best-effort. On modern Android, call recording is limited and may not work on every device or in every region. Treat it as a bonus where it works, not a certainty.
- GPS accuracy varies. Location depends on satellites, Wi-Fi and mobile signal. It is usually close, but it can drift indoors, in tall buildings, or where signal is poor, and it is not accurate to the exact metre.
- iPhone child app. The child-side app is for Android. Support for iPhone is still in development.
- Consent-gated features. Some categories only work once switched on deliberately, and some need the device user’s permission. That is by design.
Because of these limits, gaps in data are normal and do not necessarily mean something is wrong.
